Plate Fonts

Fonts for lever and other signal box plates.

Below are several files for recreating lever plates and other block shelf plates. These have been generously donated by Owen Stratford. Please ensure you credit him if sharing the files or any resulting artwork.

Notes from Owen: These fonts are only the basic character set, so when installing you may get errors warning you of that. The large text for signal box lever numbers is only 1-9/0 and A-E, but has a thicker line for the correct appearance of a bigger engraving bit. The small text is for engraving to any labels or lever plates and proportions correctly. On the fonts, * is a stylised superscript ‘o’, and in the lever font $ is a superscript ’s’ so that you can write stylised ‘Nos’.

The vector graphics (afdesign and svg formats) is for if the engraver needs the character path rather than the outline.
