UNO Fonts

General engraving fonts.

The UNO stencil fonts below are recreated from the standard UNO fonts used for general engraving and diagramming. They were sometimes used on box diagrams. There are two sources for the fonts:

  1. A limited set of characters traced by Owen Stratford, which replicates only those characters used on box diagrams. * is a stylised superscript o for use in “No 1” etc. Only capital letters numbers “ ‘ : - / , . & exist for characters. Please ensure you credit Owen if sharing the file or any resulting artwork.

  2. A complete set of all UNO fonts by Chris Fippard inspired by his time at the Post Office, gratefully shared to openSignalBox for your use. Originally hosted publicly via Chris Williams at vintage-radio.net in 2020, the ZIP file contains instructions and a nice flyer comparing the included font styles. Please ensure you credit Chris Fippard if sharing the file or any resulting artwork.
